The PTO's main role is to show industrial automation developers and users the
beneficial results of using fieldbus - in particular PROFIBUS and PROFINET - in
North American discrete manufacturing and process automation applications. PTO
assists device vendors and OEMs in the design, development and marketing of
PROFIBUS and PROFINET fieldbus products. PTO also helps end users to understand
and make optimum use of PROFIBUS and PROFINET across the enterprise.
PTO Announces Webinar Series for Process
Recognizing that not everyone can come to a city where PTO offers a PROFIBUS in the Process Industries one-day training class, the PTO has created a series of four webinars on the topic. The first webinar is scheduled for June 25 at 2:00pm EDT. It will present an introduction to fieldbuses in general and review the evolution from hard-wired devices to fieldbuses.
Free Training Schedule for 2008
The PTO and PROFI Interface Center will be holding one-day training classes throughout North America for the sixth consecutive year. There are 25 cities in the initial schedule. Watch for more to be added during the year. There are three different curricula centering on PROFIBUS, PROFIBUS in the process industry, and PROFINET.
September 25 has been confirmed for Process training in Long Beach.
PTO Welcomes Victor Wolowec, Endress+Hauser, to Board of Directors
The PTO (PROFIBUS and PROFINET North America) has appointed Victor Wolowec as the latest addition to the PTO Board of Directors. Mr. Wolowec is Vice-president, Solutions Business at Endress+Hauser, a global leader in measuring instrumentation and process automation solutions.
Faster to Market with Industrial Ethernet – PROFINET Developer Workshops announced
The increasing demand for Industrial Ethernet products prompted the scheduling of four PROFINET Developer Workshops this year (up from three last year).
